About Home Heads Up

Running a home is a hundred small deadlines nobody wrote down. Home Heads Up exists to carry that mental load — quietly.

The idea

Bin apps know bins. Weather apps know weather. Calendars know what you remembered to type in. None of them know your household — so none of them can tell you that tonight is bin night and it’s going to blow a gale, or that the washing on the line has two hours before the rain arrives.

Home Heads Up combines address-specific council data, weather, UV and Australian maintenance know-how into one question: what does this household need to know next?

The principles

  • Actionable beats informative. “Bin night tonight” — not a waste management dashboard.
  • Quiet by default. One UV heads-up a day. One bin reminder. Quiet hours out of the box. A notification you ignore is a notification we shouldn’t have sent.
  • Honest data. Official sources with proper attribution, and a straight answer (“manual setup”) where none exists. Forecast language stays humble.
  • Private by design. No account, minimal address data, no trackers, one-tap deletion. See privacy.
  • Free means free. No ads, no subscriptions, no premium tier, no data monetisation.

Australian, practically

The product feels Australian because the functionality is: G-NAF addresses, council bin cycles, ARPANSA UV, storm-season gutters, termite inspections and rego dates. No mascots required.

The website and the app

This site offers the public pieces — bin day lookup, UV information, reminder guides. The app does the ongoing work: watching schedules and forecasts for your address and nudging you at the right moment, on iOS and Android.
